Lysna brings over 25 years of wide-ranging experience in the theater: beginning her career as a Costume Designer/Coordinator for major not-for-profit theaters in NY including the Public Theater, Wooster Group and Folksbeine before moving on as an assistant to famed theater producer Arthur Cantor. As Membership Coordinator for the Writer’s Guild of America East, she coordinated membership issues for writers at NBC, CBS and ABC. However, her close ties to the theatrical world meant a return to working with theater writers, composers and lyricist at The Shukat Company, Ltd, a management company. Later, she moved to Samuel French as Director of Acquisitions and Business Affairs for the last two of her 10 years there before taking a position as Director of Acquisitions at Playscripts, Inc.
Applying her expertise as a supporter of deserving theatrical endeavors, she serves on the Advisory Board of Dramatic Question Theater, a company dedicated to presenting work to inner-city communities and cultivating a robust Latino and African-American audience. She has also served as a member of the selection committees for Kean University’s Premiere Stages Festival the Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Festival and the Eugene O’Neill’s National Music Theater Conference.
