Joseph McDonough is the resident playwright at both the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park (where he was the winner of the 2006 Mickey Kaplan New American Play Prize for his play STONE MY HEART) and the Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati where Cinderella was given its world premiere, and where he has written the books for several other musicals, including SLEEPING BEAUTY, THE FROG PRINCESS, AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS and ALICE IN WONDERLAND. His plays have been produced around the country and he is an active member of the Playwrights Workshop at the Player’s Club in New York and of New River Dramatists in Healing Springs, NC. He has previously developed his work at Lincoln Center and the Abingdon Theatre Company in New York and at the Chicago Dramatist Workshop.
